SPECIAL FEATURES: ENERGY EFFICIENT The homes large overhangs are design to allow significant direct sunlight into the home in the winter but not in the summer. The low angle of the winter sun can shine under the large south facing covered patio roof-line but the same roofline completely blocks out the high sun angle in the summer. Home is solar ready with roof trusses designed to hold extra weight of ballasted solar panels. Low electric bills. The west windows are longer where the roof overhang is larger and shorter where the roof overhang is shorter, thus helping to control the west solar radiation. The window glazing is designed with coatings to limit solar transfer and minimize thermal conduction.
